About us



The Modern Language Teachers Association of Queensland Inc (MLTAQ) is the peak professional body representing teachers of Languages throughout the state. The MLTAQ has provided a common voice for Languages educators in all sectors on state and national issues for over 50 years.


The MLTAQ aims to facilitate communication and cooperation between Languages educators, and to promote study, criticism, research and instruction in the fields of language pedagogy, teaching methodology and linguistics.


The MLTAQ also provides funding to members for language-related projects. Members who are serviced by our affiliated branches should apply through their branch executive. For more details, please download the funding information package.


The MLTAQ is governed by an Executive Committee that overseas the running of the Association based on the current Constitution and Working Rules.(Please note that Working Rules are a work in progress and still draft at this stage.)


The MLTAQ also consists of regional and language-specific network branches to accommodate the particular interests of its members.
