Events & Conferences
The MLTAQ Inc has various branches and networks (both regional and language oriented) which run seminars and workshops for members as well as competitions and other events for students. Some events are language-specific and some are multi-lingual.
A national conference is held biennially by the AFMLTA. In 2011 this conference was held in Darwin in July. If you would like more information about what happened at this conference please go to the AFMLTA website.
The next AFMLTA conference to be held will be in Canberra in 2013.
In the intervening years the MLTAQ hold a state conference. Negotiations are under way at present to determine the date, venue and makeup of the 2012 conference.

Language Teachers ForumsThe aim of the forum is to bring together language teachers and researchers in language teaching, for some great discussions on new ideas and directions. It has become quite social too, and refreshments are supplied. We have had about 25 people at the first four forums, and a group has been going to dinner in South Bank afterwards. It will also be a great way for current teachers to earn hours towards the PD requirements of the Qld. College of Teachers. |
