Language Teachers Forum Designing quality assessment aligned to the ACARA F-10 Australian Curriculum: Languages (Presenter: Dr Peter Grainger, Senior Lecturer in Education, University of the Sunshine Coast) This workshop presents a systematic step by step process for designing quality assessment aligned to the ACARA F-10 Australian Curriculum: Languages. It is based on QCAA training during the QCAR project and refined over 10 years at University of the Sunshine Coast when teaching the course Assessing Learning. Focuses include: Authentic assessment for Languages; Principles of Backward Mapping; steps to design quality and aligned assessment tasks; the significance of vocabulary and models of rubrics. This workshop will assist you in designing a task, a task sheet and a rubric. So, in preparation, please decide on a Languages assessment task based on the F-10 Australian Curriculum: Languages (topic, year level).
