The French Branch of the LTQ is organising an immersion afternoon for Year 8 students to be held at Marist College, Ashgrove on the 2nd June 2026 after school from 4.00 – 6.00 aprox. This is an event which has been very successful in the past (pre-Covid) and we at the LTQ are hoping to reprise this for different year levels in the near future.
The event, which is specifically aimed at students considering studying French as an elective subject in Year 9 next year is being held to promote the enjoyment of learning French with other learners from Brisbane and the wider area schools. There are well-equipped classrooms available for the event and all students will be given an afternoon tea or ‘un goûter’ upon arrival. The students will rotate through a series of 20 minute workshops which should be practical and creative aimed at promoting the French language and cultural experiences.
To secure a place in this event, you must be a registered teacher with the LTQ. There will be a cost of $10 per student which will cover their snack (gluten free alternative will be provided).
Our French Branch treasurer will invoice your school. Please include the email address where the invoice should be sent in the space in the proforma below.
Should you wish to participate with your students, please nominate a workshop you would like to lead at the event and register your interest by completing the attached proforma.
Please note that there will be a maximum of 25 students per school for this event.
